PSFR&W HISTORY
The International Front Runners started in San Francisco in 1974, as a non-profit, running, walking and social club for gays, lesbians and friends. The organization currently has over 100 chapters worldwide. Click here for more history.
The Palm Springs Front Runners and Walkers founders and partners, Phil Catalli and Lee Walton, started a Palm Springs chapter in 1997, with the hope that others in the community would be inspired to join. Since 1997 PSFRs has enrolled over 1000 members and currently has 465 active members and growing!
PSFR welcomes walkers and runners of all ability levels, whether beginner or accomplished. Our daily walks and runs are non-competitive and promote health, fitness and friendship in a welcoming social atmosphere.
WHERE WE MEET
All runs/walks meet in the parking lot next to the Mizell Center, on Ramon Road (near Sunrise). The course includes a 3 or 5 mile run and a 2, 3 or 4-mile run/walk through scenic golf courses!
THE SCHEDULE
Presently, the schedule of walks and runs are as follows:
Monday thru Saturday: 8:00 AM
Wednesday Evenings: 6:30 PM

CLUB ACTIVITIES
PSFR holds MANY social events. Some include monthly potlucks and movie nights, hosted by members in their homes.
Other activities are hikes, bike rides, and holiday theme parties, just to name a few. In addition, we hold many theater outings, special chartered bus trips to museums, West Hollywood, and TV show tapings.
We hold an annual PSFR Pride 5K Run and Walk during PS Pride Weekend, with the proceeds going to local charities.
The club is also a major financial contributor to the annual AIDS Walk, as well as other local charitable organizations
THE MEMBERSHIP
Everyone is welcomed to join PS Front Runners and Walkers. Dues are only $24.00 per year for singles and $40.00 per year for couples living at the same address, which entitles members to participate in all club activities and receive the monthly newsletter.
